Join fellow WIN members in our first Virtual Happy Hour on Thursday, April 30th at 5 PM PST. We hope to see Stanford alumni & friends from both US coasts, the heartland, and from all around the world. Following a short introduction, we will invite you into Zoom breakout rooms to talk about anything that is on your mind. We will also provide some conversational prompts for ten-minute discussions. There will be 3-4 room rotations so that you can talk to as many people as possible and connect with everyone.

Join WIN at a day-long retreat to explore these concepts! Through discussion, individual work, and group activities, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your personal leadership journey and gain insight into how your unique experiences have shaped your leadership mindset. Building on this self-discovery, we’ll talk about how embracing our authentic leadership makes us more effective in leading and serving others. We’ll end the retreat with an interactive group session that will provide inspiration and support as we begin to apply the lessons of authenticity and servant leadership in our daily lives. Before joining academia Alexander worked for the ACLU as the director of the Racial Justice Project. The Project centered around educational equity and criminal justice reform. It was during her time at the ACLU she became inspired to write The New Jim Crow and became passionate about exposing and challenging racial bias in the criminal justice system. RSVP here

The Alumni Panel & Mixer is the culmination of an eight-week series entitled Women at Work, which brings guest speakers to the Women’s Community Center to give talks or host workshops that aim to prepare students for life beyond the Farm. Panelists will speak to issues unique to women in the workplace, including developing leadership, projecting confidence, and finding careers that are both fulfilling and challenging. The evening will create a space to build new connections among students and alumnae who share the WCC mission: Scholarship, Leadership, Activism. Panelists include Karen Bhatia ('98), Founder of Action Cam; Kimber Lockhart ('08), Director of Web Application Engineering at Box; Mae Tai O'Malley ('94), Founder and Managing Attorney of Paragon Legal; and V. Joy Simmons ('74), Physician and Director of Computerized Tomography and Sonography at Kaiser in Los Angeles. This event was made possible by the generous support of a Stanford Associates Grant.

Before joining academia Alexander worked for the ACLU as the director of the Racial Justice Project. The Project centered around educational equity and criminal justice reform. It was during her time at the ACLU she became inspired to write The New Jim Crow and became passionate about exposing and challenging racial bias in the criminal justice system. RSVP here

The Stanford Alumni Women’s Impact Network (WIN) believes that leadership is a mindset, not a title or a position. Whether at home, at work, or in our communities, we all have opportunities to lead. But it can be challenging to recognize when and how we're showing up as leaders, and to engage in the self-development needed to magnify our impact. Join WIN at a day-long retreat to explore these concepts! Through discussion, individual work, and group activities, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your personal leadership journey and gain insight into how your unique experiences have shaped your leadership mindset. Building on this self-discovery, we’ll talk about how embracing our authentic leadership makes us more effective in leading and serving others. We’ll end the retreat with an interactive group session that will provide inspiration and support as we begin to apply the lessons of authenticity and servant leadership in our daily lives. The Alumni Panel & Mixer is the culmination of an eight-week series entitled Women at Work, which brings guest speakers to the Women’s Community Center to give talks or host workshops that aim to prepare students for life beyond the Farm. Panelists will speak to issues unique to women in the workplace, including developing leadership, projecting confidence, and finding careers that are both fulfilling and challenging. The evening will create a space to build new connections among students and alumnae who share the WCC mission: Scholarship, Leadership, Activism. Panelists include Karen Bhatia ('98), Founder of Action Cam; Kimber Lockhart ('08), Director of Web Application Engineering at Box; Mae Tai O'Malley ('94), Founder and Managing Attorney of Paragon Legal; and V. Joy Simmons ('74), Physician and Director of Computerized Tomography and Sonography at Kaiser in Los Angeles. This event was made possible by the generous support of a Stanford Associates Grant.
